To become a Scuba Diver, you need to be comfortable in the water and have basic
swimming skills, so your instructor will ask you to do some swimming and floating -
nothing extreme (200 metres and a 10 minute float/tread water), just enough to
determine you have the basic swimming abilities. |

Anyone of average fitness can learn to dive. A medical assessment form is completed
before the course can be undertaken. Your GP or a specialist Dive Doctor should
evaluate any potential issues. In some cases a Medical Fitness to Dive Certificate may
be required. You will be required to sign a Medical Statement Form prior to training. |
