Specialty Courses Coventry Scuba School is able to offer the following specialty courses: Dry Suit A must for serious cold water divers - learn how to safely use a dry suit to remain warm and dry on your dives. The course consists of a short section of self-study using the manual provided, a pool orientation dive and two dives in open water. Dry suit use is included in the cost of the course. Enriched Air (Nitrox) Extend your dive times and reduce the likelihood of Nitrogen Narcosis by using Nitrox. The course consists of a classroom session of approximately four hours in which you will learn how Nitrox can be a major benefit to recreational divers. Learn how to use equivalent air depth tables and Nitrox RDP, how to analyse your Nitrox mix using an oxygen analyser. Two Nitrox open water dives will then be undertaken. Wreck Learn how to explore safely the rich heritage of wrecks that surround this country and are spread throughout the world. The course includes wreck navigation, penetration and hazard avoidance. Deep Experience deeper diving under the watchful eye of an instructor. The course includes a short section of self-study. Subjects covered will include, Decompression Illness, Nitrogen Narcosis and the use of appropriate equipment.
Experience the nocturnal underwater world. The course includes a short section of self-study of the special techniques and appropriate equipment required. Search and Recovery Learn how to locate and recover small to medium-sized objects from depth. The course includes a short section of self study On the open water dives you will practise various search patterns, hone your navigation skills and use lifting bags to raise objects. Navigation The mysteries of underwater navigation revealed. Learn how to successfully navigate throughout your dives. Natural navigation, pilotage, compass navigation with time and distance measurement are all taught on this course. Peak Performance Buoyancy Good buoyancy control is a major part of safe and enjoyable diving. This course will help improve control through the use of of proper weighting techniques, equipment configuration and various exercises.
